Jiggle main documentation ==== Jiggle resources for NCSS ==== For normal event timing, you will use one of the primary NCEDC database connections listed in the data sources table. If you need to time events when the NCEDC database is not available, you can configure jiggle to use one of the real time (RT) databases. See the jiggle documentation to learn how to make these changes, but choose an appropriate database from the table here. In order to access a database or wave server on the CISN or NCSS T1 circuits, your computer must have a network card configured for and connected to these networks; and your computer must have the hostnames and IP addresses listed in its hosts file. See the table of network names (below) for the "domain name" value to configure jiggle. == Data Sources (database connections) == ^ description ^ database host ^ Database name ^ Database port# ^ Username ^ Password ^ | primary NCEDC DB | aqms-bk-pp | archdb1 | 5432 | operator | * | | MP archive DB | aqms-nc-pp | archdb1 | 5432 | operator | * | | RTMP database | aqms-nc-rt | rtdb2 | 5432 | operator | * | | RTUCB database | aqms-bk-rt | rtdb1 | 5432 | operator | * | ^ test database - not for production work ^| | | | | | test NCSS database | ???? | ???? | 5432 | operator | * | When jiggle using the NCEDC database for event information, jiggle can also get waveforms from the NCEDC. This is done by selecting **DataSource** as jiggle's wave data source. But when jiggle is getting event information from an RT database, jiggle has to be configured to get wave data from a wave server. Here are the choices available for NCSS waveforms. If you are looking for a complete list of wave servers, that is here. All of these proxy wave servers can be reached by the Public Internet, the CISN network and the NCSS network. Whether **your computer** has access to any of these networks is for you to determine! == NCSS proxy wave servers == ^ description ^ hostname ^ port ^ waves from remote nodes? ^ | MP main server | aqms-nc-rt | 9321 | yes | | MP NCSN-only server | aqms-nc-rt | 9322 | yes | | MP no-remote server | aqms-nc-rt | 9324 | no | | MP backup server | aqms-nc-pp | 9321 | yes | | MP backup NCSN-only server | aqms-nc-pp | 9322 | yes | | MP backup no-remote server | aqms-nc-pp | 9324 | no | | UCB main server | aqms-bk-rt | 9321 | no | | UCB BDSN-only server | aqms-bk-rt | 9322 | no | | NCEDC archive server; not for jiggle | aqms-bk-rt | 9323 | no | | UCB backup server | aqms-bk-pp | 9321 | no | | UCB backup BDSN-only server | aqms-bk-pp | 9322 | no | == Solution Servers == There are four solution servers running on each of the four main NCSS machines. Currently each of these is configured identically. In the future, some of these servers may have special, non-standard configurations. These servers can be accessed from any of the three NCSS networks. Of course the machine running jiggle must be connected to a given network in order for it to access a solution server via that network. ^ hostname ^ port ^ comment ^ | aqms-nc-rt | 6610 | | | aqms-nc-rt | 6611 | | | aqms-nc-rt | 6612 | | | aqms-nc-rt | 6613 | | | aqms-nc-pp | 6610 | | | aqms-nc-pp | 6611 | | | aqms-nc-pp | 6612 | | | aqms-nc-pp | 6613 | | | aqms-bk-rt | 6610 | | | aqms-bk-rt | 6611 | | | aqms-bk-rt | 6612 | | | aqms-bk-rt | 6613 | | | aqms-bk-pp | 6610 | | | aqms-bk-pp | 6611 | | | aqms-bk-pp | 6612 | | | aqms-bk-pp | 6613 | | == NCSS networks and names == ^ description ^ USGS Menlo Park ^ UC Berkeley ^ | public internet | wr.usgs.gov | geo.berkeley.edu | | CISN T1 Network | mp.cisn.org | ucb.cisn.org | | NCSS T1 Network | ncss-mp.cisn.org | ncss-ucb.cisn.org |
